Everyone gets an iPod
We had our combined KP Wood - The Linguist Christmas party last night. We all brought a present worth around $15 . We drew names to see who opened the first present, and then the second and the third and so on. Everyone whose name was called had the choice of opening a new present or "stealing" someone else's already opened present. Things quite exciting towards the end as people "stole" already opened presents and then the people whose present was stolen in turn "stole" presents they wanted from others. It all ended peacefully and we went to dinner.
I also gave each employee an iPod Nano. This is because I believe every employer and employee has an opportunity and obligation to make continuous learning happen. The new world of iPod and iTunes technology is going to make continuous mobile learning easily accessible in ways that we are just starting to understand. I want our employees to use the iPods to learn languages and other things that they are interested in. Then I want to learn from them how they are learning. This will help us develop our learning community even further.
