Travel thoughts on language

It is a good idea, but don't you think that our families think we are crazy? Perhaps it is much better going to a quick trip to a close English city. Here, in Spain, you can fly to London for a little price.

Paco, my family knows I am crazy so it is too late to worry about that now.

I recently visited Spain with my wife. As I described in a post here, it was difficult to use my Spanish as much as I had hoped. Still I listened to audio, read the newspaper and used it as much as I could. Being away from English was as important as being in touch with Spanish.

I cannot always travel to Spain when I want, but i can have a Spanish day here. I can listen to my audio content, read a book in Spanish and maybe call you on Skype and speak Spanish. I really enjoyed the CD I bought in Spain by the Grupo Risa. Very very funny and it tied in with my reading about Spanish politics in the different newspapers (El Pais, El Mundo and ABC). Unfortunately I have been unable to find many Spanish audo books and wonder if you have any suggestions.

Hi, Steve, nice to hear some words from you! You can buy some audio books in Spanish at www.audiolibro.es . There you can find some good titles in: Spanish, English and French. For example you can buy: The Quijote (RNE), for only 35$ or so, and only 14 audio CDs (very hard for me!), or a best seller like "Angeles y Demonios" by Dan Brown. Of course you can skype me to speak in English and in Spanish too. Bye bloke!
