I was off the Russian for the last month or so, concentrating on the languages of the countries I was visiting in Europe. I am back on to listening to and reading Russian now. I have essentially not spoken to anyone over the the last nine months of on and off listening to Russian, but feel that my Russian is now at the stage where I can speak comfortably. I just need to work on vocabulary more which I am starting to do with the new Linguist system.
One interesting phenomenon is the following. I have a few hours of Russian on my iPod shuffle. I have listened to it all many times. I shuffle the content. But when phrases are running around in my mind, they are not the phrases that I just finished listening to. They are phrases from content that I listened to very often 6 months ago!
Whatever you put into your mind by reading and listening, stays there. You just need to figure out how to trigger these items to reappear when you need them. You just need to train yourself to be able to retrieve the words and phrases you need.
I should add that I have avoided all explanations of Russian grammar!
I like this space. It is friendly. It is going to take me a while to settle in. I think I will do all my blogging from here.
First I will do a little writing in a few foreign languages. I will start with Japanese.今日は木曜日、晴れ時々曇り。家内はゴルフへ行く。僕は仕事、と言ってもThe Linguistの仕事、をやる。。しかしそれは仕事ではない．少なくても楽しい仕事．このword processorになれていませんので時間かかる。
Pour les quelques mots de francais je ne vais pas changer ma clavicule juste pour pouvoir ecrire avec les accents comme il faut. Il est trop difficile de se rappeler de la position des lettres pour la clavicule francaise. D'ailleurs je ne suis meme pas certain que "keyboard" s'appele clavicule.
Ni tampoco no voy a cambiar de teclado para escribir en espanol. Que me disculpen todos mis amigos que hablan espanol.
тепер я пищю немношга по русскии,хотя я говорю оцин плохо. вцера я цитал оцин интересное книга, руццкие расскаэы. ето книга двех яаэыках. если я цитаю по англискии и по тоже времинии по русскии, по краине мере я могу понимать. кагда я пишу по русскии я думаю естъ многа ошипки.ницево.не имеет знаценя.
My Chinese word processor is not working so I will just leave it that for today.
